They meet again two months later. He waits outside the town's library, nonchalantly leaning against the handrail of the steps leading down to the street. She stops the moment she sees him, her displeasure apparent on her features because she has not yet learned to hide all her feelings.
"I have no doubt you will claim this is a coincidence", she says, adjusting the weight of the book bag.
"I wanted to see you, actually", he replies, smiling as her mouth tightens.
"Why?"
He purses his lips in thought. Should he tell her that her reaction to him, a ragged and dirty man with a stained ribbon in his hair, is absolutely delightful? That watchi

microfic: lucky and lucas: realisation
Lucky diverts her gaze from the starry sky, turning her head so that the still warm grass tickles her cheek as she watches Lucas, suddenly laughing so hard there are tears down his cheeks.
"Dude, what?" she asks, mildly annoyed at having been torn away from her thoughts.
"I just realised", he replies, gasping for breath between words, "that snakes are just tails with faces."
She pushes her head into his chest, digs one shoulder into hard muscles and the yielding flesh beneath them, grunts wordlessly when he complains and tells him that he's an uncomfortable pillow.
He tries to relax so he'll seem softer for the duration of the film.

He talks about adventure and road trips and going to exhibitions of lamp shades just to pretend to be genuinely interested and laugh about it later. He says that they'll spend a whole summer just going all over the country by train and she tells him that it's a stupid idea but secretly hopes that he's really just joking.
She'd rather spend her time at home and worries that he'll
The first time they met was in a supermarket. He, already knowing her intimately, smiled and presented her with the bag of flour that was undoubtedly what she'd been sent to fetch by her mother. She, with words of thanks at the tip of her tongue, paused as their fingers brushed.
"You are illogical."
"You are a thirteen-year-old who doesn't use contractions because you despise imperfections."
She stared. He raised an eyebrow, adjusted the thick glasses perched on the bridge of his nose.
"Why the surprise? Were we not playing a game of State The Obvious?"
"Who are you?"
"I'd wager you already know that."
"But that is impossible."

If you know how to listen, the city is full of whispers. You just need to be alert and learn to find the grains of truth in a desert full of stories and lies.
As a gifted storyteller (and excellent liar), Varric knows exactly how to do this. He never tires of his research, which often leads him to finding the naked truth, eagerly waiting for someone like him to care for her and dress her up in new clothes before sending her back out into the world - and people listen to his truth. Even the Viscount greedily (albeit unknowingly) drinks his words in, eventually.
If he wanted to, Varric could be someone in this town but he knows the attention

Jokes: Lucas, Lucky, Cherry, Isaac
"Eh, all scientists are just hipsters anyway, that's why they wear glasses", Lucas says one evening in Cherry's kitchen. The table is full of books and calculators, the other three chairs occupied by Isaac, Lucky and Cherry herself.
"Your logic is flawed", Isaac calmly replies, doing his best Vulcan impression. He really doesn't understand why the other boy is allowed to join this study group when all he does is talk and ask for food and text whichever girl currently holds his attention. These meetings would be far more productive if, say, Sam or Stoley would take his place.
Across the table, Lucky gets a mischiveous sparkle in her eye and
oh right there's this thing

In other news I've been evacuated from my home for a couple of days because there was a crazy storm and a tree blew down into my garden, ruining my pumpkin patch... except for one pumpkin. And I was planning on having home-grown Halloween lanterns all over my garden :c I am dissapoint. At least it didn't bring my giant lilac bushes down with it, a
